Center Programs

In accordance with the mission of The American College, the Center for Ethics in Financial Services is committed to advancing the life-long learning of the financial services community. The Center is primarily active in two areas:
Creating and maintaining continuing education opportunities in ethics:
Webcasts and Continuing Education courses are offered for State Insurance ethics credits and CFP® Certification Education. The Center offers an on demand web-based class for CFP® and state insurance ethics continuing education. Watch the Center's Webcasts link for webcast schedules.
The Center also teaches classes in Ethics as part of The American College's degree programs. These classes can be taken as part of a program or as a single class. Providing insight on key ethical issues:
The center provides commentary on many of the current events and their ethical ramifications. Many can be found on The American College's Wealth Channel.
The Mitchell Forum is an annual event that brings together practitioners from financial services companies and business ethicists from academia to engage in meaningful conversation about ethics in the industry.
The Cary Maguire Fellowship supports an individual who is doing work at the interaction of theory and practice generally in the area of effective meaningful disclosure with special emphasis in the area of accounting.
Ethics Awareness Month, originated by The American College, and supported by hundreds of companies across the US; Ethics Awareness Mont provides the Center further opportunity to support the community through various methods of outreach and education.
