Ethics Webcasts


 

Professionals needing Continuing Education classes for State Insurance credit and CFP® Certification can participate in webcasts for Continuing Education credits. In addition, the Center for Ethics offers an On-Demand web-based class for CFP® ethics Continuing Education.


The "Hot Issues in the Ethics of Financial Services" webcasts are currently the only Ethics webcasts that count for insurance continuing education requirements.

1.) Why can't I view the webcast? I am having technical difficulties.
Please make sure you adhere to the technical requirements listed above. Test your connection, and contact your internal Technology Department if there are any restrictions to viewing the webcast.
 
2.) Where/what is the Proof of Completion Form?
The appropriate Proof of Completion form can be accessed from the email containing your Log-in information you will receive once you sign up for the course. If you have trouble downloading this form, contact the Webcast Support Hotline at (610) 526-1531.
 
3.) Who can be a monitor?
The American College requires that participation in webcast events be monitored by a disinterested third party. Eligible monitors include anyone who will not derive financial benefit from credential renewal, such as coworkers or neighbors. (Ineligible monitors would be supervisors, employees, and relatives.)
 
4.) How do I obtain a receipt?
Your receipt will be part of the email you receive after you register for the webcast. If you misplace the email, please contact a Professional Education counselor at 888-263-7265.
 
5.) Does the "Hot Issues in the Ethics of Financial Services" webcast count towards insurance continuing education requirements?
This webcast does count for insurance continuing education requirements.
 
6.) How do I obtain CE credit?
CE credit may be requested on the registration form. In addition, when you complete the Proof of Completion form, you will have the opportunity to indicate that you would like CE credit.

 
7.) How do I know that my CE credits have been received by my state?
If it is two weeks after the webcast and you have submitted your completed Proof of Completion form, you should contact your state if you would like to confirm that your credits have been received.
 
8.) I am still having technical difficulties. What should I do?
If you have contacted your Technology Department and have met all of the technical requirements and continue to experience technical difficulties, please contact our technical administrator at 610-526-1548.

CE 107 Issues in Ethics of Financial Services (Only available for credit in the state of IL)
CE 107 is an interactive three-hour course designed for a live classroom setting.  Students listen to insightful lectures, watch and comment on relevant and current ethical scenarios, and participate in a guided discussion led by a moderator.

California Residents: If you have previously taken and completed Hot Issues in the Ethics of Financial Services, you will not be eligible to receive state CE credit for CE 100 Issues in the Ethics of Financial Services. CE credit can only be given for one or the other.


IL Residents: CE 100 will not meet the required 3 hours of classroom ethics.
